    No Wonderland for Alice
by Ian Curr

Alice works in an office, she is still in her twenties, is married but not had children. Her career seems at times merely an adjunct to her husbands earning capacity for she earns less than $20,000 a year. However she likes the independence of having her own pay packet. The truth is she is conscientious and good at most things she does....
We all had kids while we had to work on terminals. Why shouldn't Alice..and we didn't even have the right to a transfer so what's she complaining about? You can't get everything you want here, Alice. This place is no wonderland, Alice - do you know what we mean?
